Society Orlando is a two-tower, 1.5-million-square-foot, mixed-use high rise in the downtown Orlando Central Business District in Florida, USA. The building is using GF Uponor AquaPEX® for the domestic water system, Wirsbo hePEX™ for the condenser-chilled water, and GF Uponor PP-RCT for the hydronic distribution from the rooftop to the mechanical room.

Using a corrosion-resistant polymer piping solution as opposed to metallics provides greater system longevity, eliminating unnecessary waste when the piping needs to be replaced due to corrosion, pinhole leaks, or scale buildup. Also, using flexible PEX and the GF Uponor Logic layout with multiport tees for the domestic water system provides greater efficiencies with faster hot-water delivery. Best of all, using hydronics for the condenser-chilled water system provides greater sustainability because water transports energy 3,500 times greater than air. So, the system can absorb the heat energy from the building more efficiently.
